Formula / methodology used

  • Metric: (BMI = kg ÷ (m²), where m = cm ÷ 100).
  • Imperial: (BMI = (lbs ÷ inches²) × 703).
  • Category thresholds follow standard BMI bands.

Example calculation

Metric: 170 cm and 65 kg.

  • Height in meters = 1.70
  • BMI = 65 ÷ (1.7²)

Result: BMI ≈ 22.5 → Normal weight
