Formula / methodology used
- Metric: (BMI = kg ÷ (m²), where m = cm ÷ 100).
- Imperial: (BMI = (lbs ÷ inches²) × 703).
- Category thresholds follow standard BMI bands.
Example calculation
Metric: 170 cm and 65 kg.
- Height in meters = 1.70
- BMI = 65 ÷ (1.7²)
Result: BMI ≈ 22.5 → Normal weight
