Unit Converter

Convert between supported length, weight, and temperature units using fixed factors for everyday use.

Inputs

Enter the number to convert. Negative values are mainly useful for temperature.

Result

Enter values on the left and select Calculate to see the result here.

What the Unit Converter does

  • Converts between the supported units in the selected length, weight, or temperature category.
  • Uses fixed conversion factors and direct temperature formulas for everyday/general conversions.
  • Helps with quick checks for travel, labels, recipes, packages, fitness notes, school work, and other non-specialist uses.

How to use the Unit Converter

  1. Enter the value you want to convert.
  2. Pick the supported category, then choose the From and To units shown for that category.
  3. Click Calculate and treat the result as a rounded conversion based on the selected units.

Formula / methodology used

  • Length conversions use meters as the base unit; weight conversions use kilograms as the base unit.
  • Temperature conversions use the standard formulas °F = °C × 9/5 + 32 and °C = (°F − 32) × 5/9.
  • Results are formatted to 4 decimal places, so small rounding differences may appear.

Example calculation

Convert 5 miles to kilometers.

  • Category = length
  • From = miles; To = kilometers
  • 1 mile = 1.609344 kilometers
  • 5 × 1.609344 = 8.04672

Result: The converted value is approximately 8.0467 km after display rounding.

Common mistakes and limitations

  • Only the units listed in the selected category are supported.
  • Rounding can create small differences compared with more precise or unrounded calculations.
  • The tool does not replace specialist scientific, engineering, trade, medical, legal, or standards-body measurement guidance.

Important note

This converter provides general conversions based on fixed factors and your inputs. It is not professional measurement, engineering, medical, trade, or legal advice.

Unit Converter FAQs

Does this unit converter include every possible unit?

No. It only converts the supported units shown in the form. It is intended for everyday/general conversions, not every specialist scientific, engineering, trade, medical, or legal measurement standard.

Why can my result differ slightly from another source?

The calculator uses fixed conversion factors and rounds displayed results to 4 decimal places. Other tools may show more decimals or use context-specific standards.

Can I use negative values?

Negative values can be meaningful for temperature conversions. For physical lengths or weights, check whether a negative input makes sense for your use case.
